Superstar RajiniKanth has now come up with a commercial entertainer Petta after the fictional entertainer 2.0. Amongst huge expecations, which is quite obvious for Rajini’s films, the film Petta has been released. The looks of Rajini in the trailer allured the audience so much, as he looked much younger to his age and was as dynamic and dashing as ever. Every Tamil movie of his, is surely bound to release even in Telugu as he has huge craze not just in South India but North and even overseas. Petta has the basic plot resembling the block buster hit of Rajini Kanth’s ‘Basha’. Let us now see if the movie which got released in the festive season of Sankranthi in Telugu, has stood up to the expectations of the audience.

Story:

Kaali( Rajini Kanth) joins a college as a warden. He keeps resolving issues which arise in the college in a playful way and also helps a love pair (Megha Akash and Sanath) to unite. And also he himself falls in love with (Simran) the mother of a student. He happens to clash with a gang and that it is the time when it is revealed that he is not Kaali but his name is Petta. Petta is in rivalry with a politician Simhachalam (Nawazuddin) and his son Vijay Sethupathi. What are the issues between them, who actually is Petta, why did Petta come down from UttarPradesh…to find answer for many such questions you need to watch the movie.

Plus Points:

  • Rajini’s Style
  • Few scenes in first half
  • Simran and Rajini’s combination

Minus Points:

  • Story and Screenplay could have been better
  • Boring second half

Technical Aspects:

  • Anirudh’s Background Score is superb
  • Excellent cinematography by Tiru
  • High production and technical values

Verdict:

A perfect movie for Rajini fans. Those who wish to see the dashing and handsome Rajini with his stylish performance, can have a go this weekend.
